Car crashes into Clearwater Christmas store, driver hospitalized

CLEARWATER — A 69-year-old driver was taken to the hospital after losing control of a car that plowed into a Clearwater Christmas shop.

The crash happened just before 5 p.m. Feb. 2 in the 2900 block of Gulf-to-Bay Boulevard when the driver's westbound Nissan Maxima crossed three eastbound lanes and struck Robert's Christmas Wonderland, according to Clearwater police.

No one inside the store was injured, police said. The driver was taken to Mease Countryside Hospital as a precaution for possible minor injuries.
