Bay Sailors to meet
CLEARWATER — Bay Sailors, a sailing club for single sailors, meets on the first Wednesday of every month in the private room at Mugs Sports Bar and Grill, 13563 Icot Blvd.
Socializing begins at 6 p.m.; the meeting begins at 7 p.m.
Bay Sailors, founded in 1993, is a Florida not-for-profit corporation.

Student achievement
• Alexis Miller of Clearwater has graduated from South Dakota State University following the summer and fall 2025 semesters.
Miller graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science from SDSU's College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences.
Myrtle Executive Center sold
CLEARWATER — Myrtle Executive Center, a 38,492-square-foot, three-building suburban office complex at 1225–1243 S. Myrtle Ave., has sold to Myrtle Center, LLC for an undisclosed price.
John Gerlach, CCIM, Jake Gerlach and Cyndi Cushman, all of Colliers, represented the seller, Myrtle Executive Center, LLC, in the transaction. The buyer, Myrtle Center, LLC, was not represented by a broker.
The property was 97% occupied at the time of sale with a diverse tenant roster, including OptumCare as the anchor tenant.
Oratorio to perform Mendelssohn
Tampa Oratorio Singers will perform the Mendelssohn oratorio, Elijah, in English, with two bay area performances on March 28 at Clearwater’s Church of the Ascension at 4 p.m. and on March 29 at Tampa’s Palma Ceia Presbyterian Church at 7 p.m.
Music Director Nancy Callahan will conduct with Dale Williams, accompanist, members of The Florida Orchestra, and professional soloist, Todd Donovan, featured in the role of Elijah.
Tampa Preparatory School senior, Jackson Fowler, will also be featured during the concert. As the winner of Tampa Oratorio Singers’ 2026 vocal performance scholarship, Fowler will sing as “The Youth” with Elijah during the movement, “Thou hast overthrown thine enemies!”
The music tells the story of the prophet Elijah’s battle with the followers of the idol Baal by invoking the God of the Hebrews through intense operatic solos and powerful choruses. The music ranges from fiery dramas to tender, consoling moments of unsurpassed beauty.

Community bands set season-end performances
CLEARWATER — The Clearwater Community Bands will perform their last concert of the season April 25 at Countryside High School, 3000 State Route 580.
Doors will open at 1 p.m. The jazz band will perform at 2 p.m., and the concert band at 3 p.m.
The concert band theme will be “Ladies Night: Women of Music.”
Admission is free; donations accepted.
The concert will mark the bands’ last performance at Countryside High School. A venue for the fall season has not yet been announced.
On May 9, a Small Ensemble Recital will be performed at North Bay Community Church.
Sprague to head St. Pete-Clearwater International Airport (PIE)
CLEARWATER — Mark Sprague has been named director of St. Pete-Clearwater International Airport by Pinellas County Administrator Barry A. Burton.
Since 2015, Sprague has played a pivotal role in the growth of St. Pete–Clearwater International Airport. He become deputy director of the airport in 2015, before most recently serving as interim director.
Sprague’s career in aviation spans 25 years, including flying as an airline transport pilot for both Comair and Spirit airlines. He later worked in airport operations at both Ronald Reagan Washington National and Washington Dulles International airports.
