SPRING HILL – A 75-year-old Spring Hill woman died of injuries and two other drivers were injured in an accident on Saturday, March 28, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
At 12:05 p.m., a Kia Forte, driven by the 75-year-old Spring Hill woman, was traveling north on Horizon Drive.
A Mercedes SUV, driven by a 64-year-old Spring Hill man, was traveling east on Spring Hill Drive.
A Toyota RAV4, driven by a 30-year-old Spring Hill woman, was traveling west on Spring Hill Drive.
At the intersection of the two roadways, the Forte proceeded north into the path of the Mercedes. As a result, the Mercedes collided with the Forte.
Following the initial collision, the Mercedes rotated to final rest in the eastbound lanes of Spring Hill Drive, while the Forte rotated into the path of and was struck by the Toyota. Transported to an area hospital, the Forte driver later expired from injuries sustained during the crash, while the other two drivers suffered minor injuries.
Spring Hill Drive was shut down for several hours.
