Five Pinellas County softball teams locked in regional playoff berths by winning district titles last week. Osceola rallied from a six-run deficit to claim the Class 4A, District 11 crown, while Clearwater took the 4A-10 title. Dunedin shut out Tarpon Springs for the 3A-11 championship, Calvary Christian blanked Cardinal Mooney for the 2A-11 title and Shorecrest Prep topped Northside Christian for the 1A-9 crown.
Warriors rally past Warhawks
Trailing 7-1, Osceola scored seven runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to stun Seminole 8-7 and capture the Class 4A, District 11 championship.
Mia Maurer led the Warriors, going 2-for-3 with two doubles, two RBIs and two runs scored. Bri Shephard added two hits and two RBIs, and Bella Carter reached base three times.
Gulianna Bunday worked three innings. Ava Inman went four.
Tornadoes top Cougars
Clearwater pounded out 10 hits and rode strong pitching to a 7-3 win over Countryside for the Class 4A, District 10 championship.
Morgan Maske went 3-for-4 with a double and an RBI. Madelyn Conner added three hits and scored twice, and Megan Kimmet reached base all four times with two hits and an RBI.
Maske allowed three runs over four innings with eight strikeouts. Madison Jost worked three innings, striking out seven without allowing a hit.
Falcons shut out Spongers
Dunedin pounded out 12 hits, which was more than enough offense thanks to a dominant pitching performance in an 8-0 win over Tarpon Springs for the Class 3A, District 11 championship.
Aliyah Roseman went 3-for-3 with an RBI and stole five bases. Olivia Preston added two hits, including a home run, and drove in four. Abby McLemore homered and drove in a run.
McLemore allowed two hits over 5 1/3 innings with eight strikeouts. Cael Rogers struck out three.
Warriors blank Cougars
Morgan Spinner tossed a one-hitter with 15 strikeouts to lead Calvary Christian to a 7-0 win over Cardinal Mooney for the Class 2A, District 11 championship.
Spinner also went 3-for-4 at the plate with a triple and two RBIs. Braylee Rano added two hits, and Francesca Kadjevich went 2-for-4 with an RBI.
The defending state champion Warriors broke it open with five runs in the first inning and never looked back, finishing with 11 hits.
Caroline Rooney had Cardinal Mooney’s lone hit.
Chargers top Mustangs
Shorecrest Prep pounded out 14 hits in an 11-3 win over Northside Christian for the Class 1A, District 9 championship.
Paige Conroy went 4-for-5 with three RBIs and a home run. Lauren Sas added two hits and three RBIs, and Alexis Lavoie went 2-for-4 with two RBIs.
Madi Bidwell earned the win in the circle, allowing three runs over seven innings with six strikeouts. She also went 1-for-3 at the plate with an RBI.

Two Pinellas County baseball teams reached the regional finals this past weekend. Osceola outlasted Island Coast in a three-game Class 4A, Region 3 semifinal series, while Calvary Christian swept Jefferson to reach the Class 3A, Region 3 final.

Osceola advanced to the Class 4A, Region 3 final after outlasting Island Coast in a three-game series.
The Warriors took the opener 8-2 behind a balanced offensive attack. Ethan Futch and Connor Daly each had three hits, and Richard Stegbauer and Kaedyn Phillips added two apiece. Leo Alvarado struck out nine over five innings on the mound.
Island Coast forced a deciding game with a 7-6 win in Game 2, despite two more hits from Stegbauer. Phillips tossed 2 1/3 scoreless innings in relief.
Osceola closed out the series with a 9-6 win in the finale.
The Warriors handed Island Coast two of its four losses this season. Osceola moves on to face Jesuit in the region final.
Warriors sweep into regional final
Calvary Christian outscored Jefferson 24-6 in a two-game sweep to advance to the Class 3A, Region 3 final.
The Warriors rolled to a 10-3 win in the opener. Jase Traina led the offense with three hits, while Matthew Bowser, Jack Hunter and Luke Straw added two apiece. Kanin Summey struck out eight over five innings on the mound.
Calvary Christian closed out the series with a 14-3 win in Game 2. Hunter had three hits and Traina added two more. Straw tossed four scoreless innings.
The Warriors face North Broward Prep in a highly anticipated matchup in the regional final.
