CARROLLWOOD — A new BayCare HealthHub opened May 18 at 11802 N. Dale Mabry Highway, the site of a Barnes & Noble that operated there for 28 years.
The Carrollwood location is BayCare’s seventh HealthHub in the Tampa Bay area and follows more than a year of renovations.
BayCare Health System bought the 32,000-square-foot building and the 5 acres it sits on for $10.5 million in 2024, then converted the space to fit the health care chain’s integrated model, which brings multiple services under one roof.
The Carrollwood hub offers preventive care, urgent care, outpatient imaging, laboratory services and coordinated follow-up care, along with treatment for unexpected illnesses and injuries.
“We’re excited to bring the HealthHub concept to the Carrollwood community,” C. Todd Jones, BayCare’s chief strategy officer and chief ambulatory services officer, said in a news release. “The HealthHub is designed to make care more convenient, more connected and easier to navigate, so patients can focus on their health, not the process of getting care.”
The facility features an open-concept layout with artwork and what the company described as calming colors meant to put patients and visitors at ease.
BayCare operates six other HealthHubs in the region: Bardmoor, Bloomingdale, Carillon, Land O’ Lakes, South Tampa and Trinity. Additional locations are planned for the Epperson community in Wesley Chapel and for Palmetto in Manatee County.
Barnes & Noble relocated to the former Bed Bath & Beyond space at 13123 N. Dale Mabry Highway in the Palms of Carrollwood shopping plaza, reopening in April 2025.
