Homeowners affected by hurricanes Debby, Helene or Milton in 2024 can apply for federal funds from the Community Development Block Grant Disaster Recovery initiative.
The Home Recovery Program launched this month with $252,711,000 in funding through the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. The program provides repair, reconstruction and elevation assistance for storm-damaged homes, prioritizing the most impacted residents.
Eligible residents may submit pre-applications through the Lasting Manatee program this month and complete their applications beginning June 1, undergoing a review process that includes eligibility verification, home inspections and funding awards.
One criteria for eligibility is that applicants must still own their primary home that was damaged from any of the three hurricanes, according to the website. Other requirements apply.
The Home Recovery Program is one of several Lasting Manatee initiatives focused on housing recovery, infrastructure resilience and long-term community stability following storm events.
