Summer is here, and that means it’s time to get the kids out of the house.

From camps and water adventures to indoor climbing gyms and mini golf, the Tampa Bay area offers plenty of options to keep families busy through August. Here’s a roundup:

Camp Sierra at Northdale YMCA

Tucked away at the Bob Sierra Family YMCA, Camp Sierra offers weeklong summer sessions, Kids Day Out and preschool enrichment programs running through August. The campground features an Olympic-size pool, splash pad, gym and a ropes course with a zip line.

The Life Wake Camp

Children ages 7 to 15 can spend a week on the water at The Lift Adventure Park, a cable wakeboarding facility at SunWest Park in Pasco County. Half-day sessions include hands-on instruction, tricks and lunch.

Treehoppers

In Dade City — designated a Tree City USA — climbers of all experience levels can navigate up to 10 aerial adventure courses with varying difficulty. Instructors can guide participants through the obstacles. The park doesn’t offer camps but welcomes group parties.

Empower Adventures Tampa Bay

A zip line course over the Mobbly Bayou Wilderness Preserve offers high-flying outings as well as summer camps for kids running through July. Camp activities include paddleboarding along with the zip lines.

Central Rock Gym

The indoor climbing gym features routes that change regularly and an automated climbing apparatus, with options for all experience levels. Weeklong summer programs in June and July serve children ages 6 to 14, covering climbing techniques, bouldering, kinesthetic training and team-building games.

Bricks 4 Kidz

iCode Robotics/Coding Camps

The Westchase tech school offers weeklong camps in robotics, coding, video production, software programming and game development, taught by instructors with tech industry backgrounds. Each session ends with a Battle of the Bots tournament.
