The annual Give Back Breakfast hosted by the Rotary Club of New Tampa — part face-to-face nonprofit networking, part donation celebration — hosted local and global nonprofits on June 12 at Tampa Palms Golf and Country Club, giving away $87,058 from its foundation’s annual fund.
More than 20 nonprofit organizations received funds from the Rotary Club of New Tampa, which has helped serve the area and beyond for just over three decades.
“We look forward to this celebration every year, not just for the grants that help locally and throughout the world…it’s also about the hundreds of service hours we dedicate to these nonprofits,” said Paul Suppicich, 2025-26 club president, in a statement. He cited the club’s recent donation to the Quail Hollow Elementary Butterfly Garden, in cooperation with AdventHealth Wesley Chapel and the school’s Girl Scout troop, that memorialized the school custodian and garden caretaker, as part of its local outreach.
The Rotary Club of New Tampa and its foundation have donated more than $1.6 million to nonprofits in the community and to Rotary projects around the world since the club’s founding in 1995. Like Rotary International, its causes promote peace, fighting disease, providing clean water/sanitation/hygiene, improving health for mothers and children, supporting education, growing local economies, and protecting the environment, according to club member Karen Frashier.
The annual breakfast brings together dozens of nonprofit leaders in the community, with the idea that they can network and expand their reach.
“Every year, a nonprofit leader tells us they began a relationship with another nonprofit during this celebration,” Suppicich said. “Each nonprofit has a few minutes to explain what it does and how it plans to use the donation. That creates ideas. These community leaders don’t often have the chance to meet like this.”
The donations this year range from helping a book bus to an orphanage in Zimbabwe to Texas flood relief and local charities like the YMCA, Meals on Wheels and Feeding Tampa Bay.
