BROOKSVILLE – Starting Monday, July 6, Alfred McKethan Pine Island Park began opening at 10 a.m.
At the Tuesday, July 7, County Commission land use meeting, commissioners were not happy with the change and ordered that the opening time be changed to 8:30 a.m.
The adjustment to the park’s operating hours was to provide staff with dedicated time each morning to complete routine maintenance before visitors arrived.
