Pocket park envisioned in downtown Palmetto

By Tampa Bay Beacons

A vacant field awaiting development is slated to become a temporary pocket park on property owned by the Palmetto Community Redevelopment Agency on 10th Avenue.

Manatee County commissioners unanimously voted to find $25,000 in its budget to help fund the park, part of the Palmetto Downtown Main Street community revitalization project.

Until the property is developed, “We can use the site as a gathering space” for mini concerts and pop-up events, Palmetto Downtown Main Street Executive Director Karon Dixon said.
