New Port Richey woman facing DUI, drug charges after car runs up utility pole, FHP says

A New Port Richey woman is facing DUI and drug charges after FHP says she lost control of her car on U.S. 19 and crashed into a utility pole early Sunday, July 12.

A Mazda CX30, driven by a Hannah Elizabeth Mackay, 29, was traveling north on U.S. 19. While traversing the intersection of Sunray Drive, she lost control of the car at 9:25 a.m., FHP says. The car entered the northeast shoulder, ran into a ditch, a concrete sidewalk, and finally guide wires supporting a utility pole, FHP says.

Mackay suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to an area hospital.

She was later arrested and charged with DUI, drug possession, and driving while license suspended, FHP said.
