Small plane makes emergency landing
Three people walked away uninjured after the small plane they were in made an emergency landing July 8 in a pasture south of Old Trilby Road and Lockhart Road, Hernando County Fire Rescue said.
The plane’s engine failed, according to the agency. Fire Rescue crews responded on July 8.
Spring Hill station led Hernando fire calls in June
Hernando County Fire Rescue answered 3,474 calls in June, and Station 12 was its busiest, according to the agency’s monthly figures.
Engine 12 made 335 runs and Rescue 12 made 290, the most of any engine or rescue unit in the county. Countywide, crews made 2,105 patient transports and fought 57 brush, vehicle and structure fires.
Fire Rescue estimated it saved about $4.6 million in property value during the month.
