St. Pete e-bike rider killed in Seminole crash

A St. Petersburg man died after an e-bike crash Thursday, July 16, in Seminole, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The crash occurred about 3 p.m. on 131st Street North, north of 102nd Avenue North.

Troopers said a 37-year-old Seminole woman was driving a Jeep Wagoneer south on 131st Street North when a 43-year-old St. Petersburg man operating an e-bike traveled from the west shoulder into the southbound lane and into the vehicle’s path.

The Jeep struck the e-bike rider, who suffered serious injuries, according to FHP. He was taken to a local hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.
