Construction licensing board seeks seven members
Pinellas County is accepting applications for seven appointed seats on the Pinellas County Construction Licensing Board.
The board has 15 members: representatives of various trades, building officials, a fire official and two consumer representatives.
Applications are sought in these categories:
• Licensed residential contractor
• Licensed electrical contractor
• Registered architect
• Licensed general contractor
• Consumer representative not affiliated with the construction industry
• North county building official from Clearwater, Tarpon Springs, Dunedin, Oldsmar, Safety Harbor, Belleair, Belleair Bluffs or Largo
• Beach communities building official from Belleair Beach, Belleair Shore, Redington Beach, North Redington Beach, Madeira Beach, Indian Rocks Beach, Indian Shores, Redington Shores, Treasure Island or St. Pete Beach
Members are appointed by the County Commission to four-year terms and must live in Pinellas County, except for the two building officials.
Applications are at pinellas.gov/boards-councils-and-committees and must be received by 3 p.m. Aug. 26. Commissioners will make their selections at a later meeting.
Tourist Development Council seeks three members
Pinellas County is accepting applications for three seats on the Tourist Development Council, an advisory board that recommends how the county spends its tourist development tax revenue.
The four-year terms begin Nov. 1. Applicants must be registered voters in Pinellas County, work in the tourism industry and show an interest in tourism development.
One appointee must own or operate hotels, motels, recreational vehicle parks or other accommodations in the county subject to the tourist development tax. A second must work in the tourism industry outside that category. The third may come from either category.
The 12-member council is appointed by the County Commission. Its membership requirements are set by state law and the county code.
