A number of new movies and limited television series will debut this week, including the following titles opening in theaters or premiering via video on demand on various streaming platforms:

‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’

Genre: Superhero

Cast: Tom Holland, Zendaya, Sadie Sink, Jacob Batalon, Jon Bernthal, Tramell Tillman, Michael Mando and Mark Ruffalo

Rated: PG-13

It’s a brand new day for Peter Parker. Fighting crime full-time as Spider-Man in a world that doesn’t remember him — and the pressure of seeing his old friends move on without him — sparks a change in Peter he may not have the power to control. But that transformation might also be the only thing that can stop a shocking new threat to the city and those he loves — a powerful villain no one can even see.

The world may have forgotten Peter Parker, but he hasn’t forgotten them.

The film is scheduled to be released by Sony Pictures Releasing on July 31.

‘I Want Your Sex’

Genre: Erotic comedy thriller

Cast: Olivia Wilde, Cooper Hoffman, Mason Gooding, Chase Sui Wonders, Johnny Knoxville, Margaret Cho, Roxane Mesquida, Charli XCX and Daveed Diggs

“I Want Your Sex” tells the story of Elliot (Cooper Hoffman), a kind-hearted if unmotivated twentysomething whose fantasies quickly come true when he lands a job with renowned artist and provocateur Erika Tracy (Olivia Wilde). When Erika breaks down office boundaries and takes Elliot on as her sexual muse and subordinate, their sexually charged relationship makes him question his own desires, boundaries, and relationships with his uptight girlfriend (Charli XCX) and repressed roommate (Chase Sui Wonders). As the stakes heighten and power dynamics shift, the film mixes satire, romantic comedy, mystery, and murder through the colorful and edgy visual language for which director Gregg Araki is best known.

The film is scheduled to be released by Magnolia Pictures on July 31.

‘The Devil’s Mouth’

Genre: Survival thriller

Cast: Kathryn Newton, Lana Condor, Gavin Casalegno and Nico Hiraga

Five friends set out on one last adventure along Thailand’s stunning coast, eager for a final thrill before life in the real world begins. They sign up for a guided swim through a remote cave system known as The Devil’s Mouth, a natural wonder that’s as breathtaking as it is unforgiving.

Deep inside the labyrinth of narrow waterways, their journey takes a terrifying turn when they discover that a freak storm the week before flooded the caves with sea life. The creatures died in the fresh water, but something survived … and it’s hunting them now — fast, silent, and deadly. Every corridor they go around is overflowing with anxiety, and every wrong turn becomes a deadly encounter.

As panic spreads and their sense of direction slips away, the group begins to fracture. Trust erodes, fear takes over, and survival becomes a savage game. In the suffocating darkness, every choice could be their last as they learn that to make it out alive, sacrifices must be made.

The film is scheduled to be released on July 29 on Amazon Prime Video.

‘The Gentleman Thief’

‘Above & Below’

Friends embark on a dream vacation of parties and diving, but their trip takes a terrifying turn when criminals attack them at sea.

‘Mustache’

Genre: Comedy and drama

It’s the late 1990s in Northern California and 13-year-old Pakistani-American Ilyas (Atharva Verma) is facing a major crisis — his parents yanked him out of his comfortable Islamic private school and now he has to face life at public school. Ilyas’ fears about joining public school are made worse by insecurities due to his inescapable, prepubescent mustache. Ilyas hatches a hilarious plan to return to his old school — but he must also learn to accept himself.

The film is scheduled to be released by Quiver Distribution on July 31.
