The Manatee River Turkey Trot event has been approved by both the Palmetto and Bradenton city councils for the morning of Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 26.
The first-time event is expected draw between 1,500 to 2,000 runners who will begin at the Palmetto Marriott Resort and Spa, travel over the DeSoto Bridge to Bradenton, and turn around on Third Avenue and return to the Marriott.
FDOT approval is pending.
