• Laura Berry of Palm Harbor has graduated summa cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Maryland Global Campus. At the time of graduation, she had been named to the president’s list.
Palm Harbor dancers win Fred Astaire world title
PALM HARBOR — Roger Romero and Arismel Naya of Palm Harbor have been named the 2026 Fred Astaire World Professional Champions, the top professional title awarded by Fred Astaire Dance Studios.
The pair won at the organization’s world championships in Las Vegas, where its professional dancers compete for the title.
Romero and Naya both took up ballroom dancing at age 7 in Spain, where they grew up. They went on to compete across Europe, perform in international productions and theme parks, and join the professional cast of the Spanish version of “Dancing with the Stars,” dancing alongside celebrities.
They opened Fred Astaire Dance Studios-Palm Harbor earlier this year, months before the Las Vegas win.
‘Baseball & Books’ game to benefit Dunedin library
DUNEDIN — The Dunedin Blue Jays will donate $5 from each ticket sold with the promo code 26DBJLIBRARY to the Dunedin Friends of the Library for the team’s 6:30 p.m. game Saturday, Aug. 15.
The organization raises money for library programs for children, teens and adults. Tickets are available through the team’s website.
