Pinellas seeking applicants for education facilities board
CLEARWATER — Pinellas County is accepting applications to fill two seats on the Educational Facilities Authority Board. The appointees will serve five-year terms beginning Oct. 27.
The authority helps accredited colleges and other education providers finance buildings and other facilities. It can issue bonds and lend the proceeds to an institution, which is responsible for repaying the loan and covering administrative costs. Bond issues must be approved by the County Commission.
The board has five members, at least one of whom must be a trustee, director, officer or employee of a higher education institution.
The board usually meets at 4 p.m. on the third Thursday of the month at the St. Petersburg College EpiCenter, Room 1-200, 13805 58th St. N., Clearwater. Meetings are canceled when there is no business to consider.
Applications are due by 3 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 16, and are available at pinellas.gov/boards-councils-committees.
