Tampa pedestrian dies after collision with car

A 53-year-old Tampa woman has died after being hit by a car as she attempted to cross U.S. 41.

The incident occurred Aug.17 as a Lexus sedan, driven by a 37-year-old Dade City man, was traveling southbound on the highway, the Florida Highway Patrol reported.

The woman, who was attempting to cross the highway, entered the path of the vehicle and was struck. She sustained serious injuries and was transported to an area hospital, where she died Aug. 18.
