PARRISH — The Manatee County Planning Commission denied a request on Aug. 13 that would have allowed Belleair Capital Group to add a cellphone tower at Crosswind Point at the southeast corner of State Road 62 and U.S. Highway 301.
The request included a proposal to rezone 9.65 acres from “village” to “planned development mixed use,” removing 83,000 square feet of office space and increasing commercial space from 16,000 to 174,000 square feet in the development, which already has built 488 residential units, according to attorney Kyle Grimes, of Grimes Galvano, representing the developer.
