• The Member Art Showcase is on display Monday-Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. through Friday, Aug. 28 at the ComCenter at Lakewood Ranch, 9040 Town Center Parkway, Lakewood Ranch.
• The Parrish Arts Council invites all amateur photographers to contribute to its Photography Competition through Monday, Aug. 31. The theme is America the Beautiful, and can feature landscapes, people, places and moments that capture the beauty of America. A prize will be awarded for the top photography entry in each category.
