St. Pete Beach Public Library sets events
ST. PETE BEACH — Here is a schedule of upcoming events:
• Monday, Sept. 7: Closed for Labor Day.
• Tuesdays, 10 a.m.: Story Time. Geared to children ages 5 and younger and their caregivers, with stories, songs and movement that build early literacy skills and support motor development.
• Tuesday, Sept. 8, 4 to 5 p.m.: Pokemon Club. Trade, battle and catch them all.
• Wednesday, Sept. 9, 5:30 to 7 p.m.: Stacks and Strategies, an adult trading card game gathering. Bring Magic: The Gathering, Pokemon, One Piece or any other favorite. Trade, battle or just hang out. All are welcome.
• Thursday, Sept. 10, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.: AARP Smart Driver Course. Registration is required in advance at tinyurl.com/mwp33z2b, where participants must create an account. The cost is $20 for AARP members and $25 for nonmembers.
• Friday, Sept. 11, 4:30 p.m.: Adult craft — bedazzled wine glasses. Use stencils and colorful gems to create a design on a wine glass to take home.
• Saturday, Sept. 12, 2 to 3 p.m.: Tech help by appointment. Get help with technology basics for phones, computers and library applications. No repairs. Sign up for a 30-minute appointment at tinyurl.com/2s4zmhrj or call 727-363-9238. Because the program is held after regular library hours, all other library services will be suspended.

• Story Time: Wednesdays at 10:30 a.m. for ages 2 and younger; Fridays at 10:30 a.m. for ages 2 to 4.
• Adult coloring book group: Wednesdays, 11 a.m. to noon.
• Mahjong: Thursdays, 11 a.m. Old and new members are welcome.
• Investment club: Thursdays, 2:30 to 4 p.m.
• Meditation: Fridays, 11 a.m. to noon.
• Scrabble: Fridays, 1 to 4 p.m.
• A Novel Book Club: The new club focuses on fiction, from hidden gems to cult favorites, and meets every other week at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 8: “Part of Your World” by Abby Jimenez. Tuesday, Sept. 22: “Because I Could Not Stop for Death” by Amanda Flower.
• Book Lovers Club: Tuesday, Sept. 15, 10:30 a.m. “The Great Divide” by Cristina Henriquez.
• Author talk: Wednesday, Sept. 23, 11 a.m. Administrative assistant Christine Sloman will discuss her debut memoir, “idk, my dad has dementia.”
The library is accepting donations of gently used books, excluding textbooks. Tech help with library apps such as Kanopy, Hoopla and Libby is always available.
