ST. PETE BEACH — The St. Pete Beach Public Library has set its schedule for upcoming events.
• Monday, Sept. 14, 11 a.m.-noon — Tech Help- Walk-In: Get help with technology basics for phones, computers, and library-related applications. Monday Tech help is on a walk-in-only basis
• Monday, Sept. 14, 5-5:45 p.m. — Join District 2 Commissioner Lisa Robinson for her open office hour at the library.
• Tuesdays, 10 a.m. — Storytime: This lively story time is perfect for children ages 5 and under and their caregivers. Explore stories, songs and movement that build early literacy skills and support motor development.
• Wednesday, Sept. 16, 11 a.m.-noon — Click with Confidence: Computer Basics: This beginner-friendly session covers the basics of turning on a computer, using a mouse, and building confidence through hands-on practice.
• Wednesday, Sept. 16, 23 1-4 p.m. — Open Mahjong: Bring some friends and play Mahjong. (Not instructional)
• Thursday, Sept. 17, 10-10:20 a.m. — Boogie & Bubbles: 20 minutes of music and movement. Great for ages 2-5.

Cleaning up the Trail
Members of Gulf Beach Masonic Lodge in Madeira Beach, their family members and friends recently helped clean up a section of the Pinellas Trail. This monthly cleanup by lodge members occurs rain or shine as part of the “Keep Pinellas Clean” initiative.
Gulf Beaches Library announces event
MADEIRA BEACH — The Gulf Beaches Public Library, located at 200 Municipal Drive, has released a schedule of upcoming events at the library.
• Writers Group: Mondays, 10 a.m.
• Adult Coloring Book Group: Wednesdays, 11 a.m.-noon.
• Mahjong: Thursdays, 11 a.m. Old and new members welcome.
• Investment Club: Thursdays, 2:30-4 p.m.
• Meditation: Fridays, 11 a.m.-noon. Relax and rejuvenate at the end of the week.
• Scrabble: Fridays, 1-4 p.m.
• Storytime: Wednesdays at 10:30 a.m., ages 2 and under; Fridays at 10:30 a.m., ages 2-4.
• A Novel Book Club: This book club focuses on fiction, from hidden gems to cult favorites. Meets every two weeks at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 22: “Because I Could Not Stop for Death” by Amanda Flower.
• Book Lovers Club: Tuesday, Sept. 15, at 10:30 a.m. “The Great Divide” by Cristina Henríquez.
• Author Talk: Wednesday, Sept. 23, at 11 a.m. Administrative Assistant Christine Sloman will discuss her debut memoir, “idk, my dad has dementia.”
The library is currently taking gently used donations of books, no textbooks.
Ongoing tech help with library apps like Kanopy, Hoopla, and Libby is available.

Taste of the Beaches 2026 tickets on sale now
ST. PETE BEACH — Tickets are officially on sale for Taste of the Beaches 2026, a nine-day culinary experience presented by Kolter Urban and Smith & Associates Real Estate and hosted by the Tampa Bay Beaches Chamber of Commerce.
Taking place Saturday, Oct. 3 through Sunday, Oct. 11, Taste of the Beaches allows locals and visitors to discover restaurants throughout the Tampa Bay Beaches and surrounding communities while enjoying specialty dishes created for the event.
Taste tickets are $10 each, and each ticket can be redeemed for one designated Taste at a participating restaurant. Guests can choose the restaurants they want to visit, purchase as many tickets as they would like and build their own nine-day Taste Tour.
“Taste of the Beaches is about getting people through the doors of our local restaurants and giving them a reason to explore somewhere new,” said Charlie Justice, CEO of the Tampa Bay Beaches Chamber of Commerce. “Our restaurants are such an important part of what makes the Tampa Bay Beaches special, and this event is a fun way for residents and visitors to support them while experiencing some incredible food along the way.”
A portion of the proceeds from Taste of the Beaches will benefit Habitat for Humanity Tampa Bay Gulfside, extending the event’s impact beyond local restaurants and into the greater Tampa Bay community.
There is no set event schedule during the nine-day Taste Tour. Participating restaurants serve their Taste during their individual operating hours.

All ticket purchases are non-refundable.
St. Pete Beach to break ground for new fire station
St. Pete Beach will hold a groundbreaking ceremony for Fire Station 22 at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 16, at 1950 Pass-a-Grille Way.
The station will be rebuilt on the site of the old one, which was demolished after it was heavily damaged by hurricanes Helene and Milton in 2024. The city had begun planning a replacement before the storms, citing the building’s age and its lack of critical features.
The city has secured $6.5 million in state appropriations, with support from state Rep. Linda Chaney and state Sen. Nick DiCeglie. Construction is estimated to cost $10.5 million and to take at least 14 months. The city is pursuing additional state and federal appropriations, grants and private funding to close the gap.
“This groundbreaking is more than replacing a fire station,” Fire Chief Adam Poirrier said. “It is about taking care of the people who take care of our community. Our firefighters and paramedics deserve a safe, healthy, modern facility where they can train, recover and prepare to answer the next call. Fire Station 22 will significantly strengthen our operational capabilities and our resilience, while providing a healthier environment for our personnel.”
