ST. PETERSBURG — Boggs Law Group has been named a 2026 Best of Florida winner in the other legal services category by Guide to Florida.
The annual awards are based primarily on public voting, after which Guide to Florida reviews the results and verifies the winners.

City seeks public input on sidewalk master plan
ST. PETERSBURG — The city will hold two virtual public meetings this month on its Sidewalk Master Plan, which will set a framework for identifying, evaluating and prioritizing sidewalk improvements citywide.
City staff and the project team will present a sidewalk gap analysis and a summary of survey results, then take comment from residents. The plan will weigh pedestrian safety, accessibility, connectivity and community needs.
The meetings, both at 6 p.m., are:
• Tuesday, Sept. 15, for City Council districts 2, 3, 4 and 6.
• Tuesday, Sept. 22, for districts 1, 5, 7 and 8.

Group to host rare plant sale
ST. PETERSBURG — The Rare Plant Network will hold a plant sale from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 12, under the oaks at the Garden Club of St. Petersburg, 500 Sunset Drive S. Admission is free and the public is welcome.
Members will sell rare, variegated, exotic, ornamental and tropical plants grown in the Tampa Bay area, including air plants, alocasia, philodendron, begonias, bromeliads, caladiums, coleus, desert roses, hoyas, iris, rhipsalis and syngoniums. Bare-root cuttings, garden supplies and yard art also will be sold.
Vendors accept cash, and some accept credit cards.
Epilepsy group seeks support for awareness month
Epilepsy Alliance Florida is seeking public support during Epilepsy Awareness Month in November on behalf of the more than 500,000 Floridians living with the disorder.
One in 26 people will be diagnosed with epilepsy at some point, according to the group, which says the condition affects more people than autism, Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis and cerebral palsy combined.
The alliance provides advocacy, education, medical services and counseling to people affected by epilepsy. It is asking supporters to take part in its #ShineYourLightOnEpilepsy campaign.

City to reopen Historic Manhattan Casino
ST. PETERSBURG — The city will mark the long-awaited reopening of the Historic Manhattan Casino with a public ribbon-cutting ceremony from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 19, at 642 22nd St. S.
The event will include remarks, the ribbon cutting, the rededication of the Elder Jordan statue, an original poem read by City Poet Laureate Denzel Johnson-Green and self-guided tours of the renovated venue.
A mural on the building’s exterior also will be unveiled. The 14-by-23-foot work by artist Egypt Hagan depicts the venue’s history, its place in the Deuces community and the musicians who performed there.
“The reopening of the Manhattan Casino honors the Deuces legacy while creating new space for arts, culture and economic opportunity,” Mayor Kenneth T. Welch said. “We remain committed to continuing the important work of investing in the Deuces Corridor.”
The project received $1 million in state historic preservation money.
Body armor donated to canine officer
ST. PETERSBURG — A St. Petersburg police dog has received a bullet- and stab-resistant vest donated by Vested Interest in K-9s, a nonprofit that outfits police dogs nationwide.
The vest for K-9 Chance is custom fitted, made in the United States and certified by the National Institute of Justice. It is embroidered with the phrase “This gift of protection provided by Vested Interest in K9s, Inc.”
The organization has provided 6,631 vests worth $6.9 million to police dogs in all 50 states since it was founded, paid for by private and corporate donations.
Go Greek Yogurt to open St. Pete store
ST. PETERSBURG — Go Greek Yogurt will open its first St. Petersburg store Saturday, Sept. 12, at The Mall at Sundial, 153 Second Ave. N.
The chain imports its yogurt from Europe and uses traditional Greek straining methods. Signature flavors are plain tart, Greek honey and chocolate, with monthly and seasonal flavors rotating through.
Fresh and frozen yogurt can be topped with Greek spoon sweets — traditional preserves including sour cherry, rose petal and grape — along with nuts, seeds, fruit, chocolate and honey. The menu also includes sweet and savory bowls and smoothies.
