Hernando County residents have until Oct. 5 to register to vote in the Nov. 3 general election and until Oct. 22 to request a vote-by-mail ballot, Supervisor of Elections Denise LaVancher said in a news release.
Early voting will run from Thursday, Oct. 22, through Saturday, Oct. 31, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. at five sites across the county.
Voters can register or update their registration record at www.HernandoVotes.gov or at either of the elections office’s two locations, 16264 Spring Hill Drive in Brooksville and 7443 Forest Oaks Blvd. in Spring Hill. Both are open from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Vote-by-mail ballots can be requested through the website or by calling the office at 352-754-4125.
The early voting sites are:
• Forest Oaks Elections Office, 7443 Forest Oaks Blvd., Spring Hill.
• Spring Hill Library, 9220 Spring Hill Drive, Spring Hill.
• South Brooksville Community Center, 601 E. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., Brooksville.
• East Hernando Library, 6457 Windmere Road, Brooksville.
• Hernando County Utilities Department, 15365 Cortez Blvd., Brooksville.
A full list of early voting locations is available at www.hernandovotes.gov/1200/Early-Voting-Locations.
On Election Day, voters must cast ballots at their assigned precinct polling place, which is listed on their voter information card. Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Because locations can change from one election to the next, LaVancher urged voters to confirm their precinct in advance.
She said the Supervisor of Elections Office remains the county’s trusted source for election-related information. Voters can verify their registration and polling place at www.HernandoVotes.gov or by calling 352-754-4125.
