Junior Woman’s Club seeks new members
SEMINOLE — The Seminole Junior Woman’s Club is looking for new members — women 18 and older from Seminole and surrounding communities.
The club meets at 6:30 p.m. the fourth Thursday of each month at Lake Seminole Square, 8333 Seminole Blvd. Prospective members can join at any monthly meeting.
The group focuses on community service, particularly programs for children and veterans. Members serve a meal at the Ronald McDonald House in St. Petersburg and run the club’s Share Our Spirit food drive, which helps feed Seminole children during the winter school break. The club also holds a purse auction each April to raise money for its programs.

Seminole Historical Museum sets September program
The Seminole Historical Museum will screen clips from some of Florida’s worst B movies at 7 p.m. Sept. 23, with popcorn and soda served.
Cathy Salustri, author of “Came From Florida: The Best of Florida’s Worst B Movies,” will lead the discussion.
The museum is in Seminole City Park, 7464 Ridge Road, and is open 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursdays and Saturdays.
Tickets are also on sale for Crabby Bill’s October Fish, set for Oct. 16 in the museum’s backyard. They are available at the museum and during Music in the Park events through Oct. 9. The museum will be open 6:30-8:30 p.m. on those Music in the Park Fridays, with historical displays on view.
