New Rotary year brings new leaders, projects
DUNEDIN — Mark Allen Middleton, a member and past president of the Rotary Club of Dunedin North, has begun a one-year term as district governor of Rotary International District 6950, which takes in clubs across Pinellas, Pasco, Hernando and Citrus counties.
Middleton has served the district as an assistant governor and as its water projects chairman, and much of his Rotary work has focused on access to safe drinking water. He recently returned from Kenya, where he helped install a water filtration system funded through the Charitable Foundation of Dunedin North Rotary. The roughly $10,000 project was designed to give the community a lasting source of potable water.
Middleton founded Middleton Tampa Bay at Compass, a Tampa Bay real estate team. He is a former board member and president of the Dunedin History Museum.
Tom Miller succeeds Dunedin Vice Mayor Robert Walker as president of the Rotary Club of Dunedin North. Miller is a regulatory operations analyst at Raymond James.
Among his favorite club projects is the Peace in Action — Unite for Good Expo, held each February at the Dunedin Community Center, which brings together more than 40 area nonprofits to network and tell the public about their services.
