High School Huddle

The bleachers are full during a past event at Northeast High. Football season is underway, but those stands have been empty to start the season for the Vikings. Mold and water damage have shut down the field house, locker rooms, coaches’ room and weight room beneath the stadium, forcing the school to move three scheduled home games to other campuses.

A summer renovation let water into the locker room, mold closed it for five weeks, and the Vikings spent the start of the season on the road. They go home Sept. 18.
