Plenty of spots to find gag grouper as season opens

Capt. George Hastick has been doing well on snook over the past week, finding fish around flooded mangroves and docks. Moving water is the key, with the incoming and outgoing tide equally good. He’s been finding a lot of smaller males, but also some oversized fish. He’s been working the Pinellas side of the bay from Weedon Island to Pinellas Point.
